These Hatteras Island double drop surf fishing rigs are hand-tied by our own Frank & Fran's crew using 30lb Fluorocarbon, Mustad hooks and Sampo swivels. These make great Hatteras Island surf fishing rigs for catching puppy drum, black drum, pompano, sea mullet (whiting), spot and croaker. We like to use fresh mullet, shrimp, sand fleas and Fishbites on these rigs to target these species. Just a small piece of bait on each hook is all you need. If you want to keep things interesting, serve up a bait sandwich with a small piece of Fishbites, a piece of bait and then another small piece of Fishbites. The artificial bait will help keep the fresh bait on the hook and if a pesky crab picks off your bait, you will still have Fishbites on the hook.
