Bulk Fishing Line
Frank & Fran's has the latest fishing line and leader to forge the right connection between you and a prize catch. The line is arguably the second-most important fishing item after the rod. Good fishing lines help you detect bites, set the hook and land your prey without spooking them. Different lines work best in certain situations, which is why we carry an assortment of fishing lines from leading names like Sufix, Daiwa, Berkley, SpiderWire, Power Pro and American Fishing Wire.
The Best Line for Every Fish
Chasing bluefish, red drum, sea mullet and pompano and other popular fish around the Outer Banks is easier when you have a high-quality fishing line. Nylon monofilament surf fishing line is the most common line because it's affordable, has good abrasion resistance and offers some stretch to help hook a fish. Mono fishing line is also available in many colors to help you see the line and protect wildlife from flying into the line.
If you need a stronger line to chase sharks or want more sensitivity when fishing the sound,, consider braid. Braid is smaller in diameter than monofilament and will allow for greater line capacity on the fishing reel spool. A braided fishing line is sensitive so you can feel bites and structures more easily so it is good for trout fishing in the sound or sheepshead fishing off local wrecks. Fluorocarbon lines are practically invisible and work well for leaders for line shy fish such as trout and spanish mackerel. We also have wire leader to protect your main line when seeking toothy fish like spanish mackerel.
